The big Journey begins

All of us, me and Satchmo, the cats, Mom, Big D and Rob

stayed at Grandma's house for a week.

The people were still pretty busy and many days Satch and I had to play by ourselves.

Then one morning, after the people spent a day 

bringing all sorts of stuff into our moving home,

Mom, Big D and Rob said goodbye to Grandma,

and Mom tearfully said goodbye to the cats,

and took me and Satch to the moving home and drove away.

The people hooked up our car, Mini Melody, 

to the back of the moving home.

Satchmo and I kept trying to ride in our car whenever 

the people opened the door because

the moving home makes a lot of noise when it starts driving.

And, sometimes things go flying around, 

scaring me and Satch.

We did find a comfortable couch to sleep on though.

We left Arizona and entered into a state called Utah.

Now I've been in six states: Oregon, California, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona and Utah !!  I'm getting used to this new life and Mom says we're going to be traveling through a lot of states and see a lot of different things.

Grandma's House !!

After all that driving in that really hot weather,

we arrived at Grandma's house!

I love Grandma's house in Prescott Arizona!

The first thing Mom and Big D did after we got to Prescott 

was put all their boxes of stuff into big closets.

The big truck getting emptied of all the stuff from our home in San Francisco.

The strange hallways to the closets where all our stuff was put away.

It's been pretty tiring work for Mom and Big D

and Big D takes nap breaks a lot.

Grandma has a really cool yard with different grass.

Mom calls it a 'putting green'.

It's different then the grass I'm used to, 

and I can't dig it up. 

But the people can hose off the yard when they need to pretty easily!

I like sunning myself in Grandma's yard.

Here I am lying by the fountain, under the Hummingbird Feeder,
where I can keep track of the birds.

Mom and Big D are still busy planning stuff.  

It must be exhausting.  

I find Big D napping, like me, a lot.

Rob made a new fort that we got to play in for a while.

Sometimes there were loud noises that came from the sky that made me nervous, 

but then Mom would get excited about 'rainbows'.

At night, we'd sit around the patio after dinner around a 'fire pit'.

Rob could do some pretty interesting things around that fire pit.

Driving when it's hot outside

I'm Bebop on the road now.

Once Rob joined us, we started driving.

Rob drove the big truck with all our stuff in it.

Mom drove the big rig, 

Dolly the motorhome Dolphin.

Big D sat in the co-captain chair and napped.

We were driving through the Mojave Dessert

and it got very hot.

All of us were panting and uncomfortable.

Big D said the temperature was really hot outside.

Hope I get someplace cool soon!

On the road ...

Mom and Big D moved all of us:

me, Satchmo, Johnny, Elvis and Dusty

into this new big rig they call

Dolly the Dolphin.

It's a home on wheels.

We had a chance to settle in and find our spots

while waiting for our friend Rob to join us.

Me, getting comfortable in a new space.

Satchmo likes the chair.

Johnny found a hidey-hole.

 

Elvis and Dusty like their suitcase to hang out in.

Even Big D found a comfy place.

Mom calls Big D,

Moving??

Boxes started piling up around my home 

and more and more drawers, closets and cupboards were empty.

Then one day, AmberJoy came to get me and Satchmo.

It's always a treat to got to Honey's Heart !

But, because of all the changes going on, 

AmberJoy told Mom we were pretty clingy.

When we came home, we found this big truck in front of our home:

Then, Mom and Big D let us investigate this big rig:

 

I guess we're going on a new adventure !!

All mixed up

Mom and Big D have been really busy, 

which sometimes means they don't take me and Satch out to play.  

So we get pretty bored.

The cat residents though have fun discovering new places to hang out.

And, that does give me and Satch something to investigate.

Elvis likes boxes, bags and paper.

Johnny's always finding new hiding spots.

Trying out different beds for size.

Every once in a while I have to try a new sleeping arrangement.

The cats I live with really like this bed, so I decided to check it out for myself.

But, I didn't feel as comfy as the cats look
when they're sleeping in this bed.

Here I am trying to fit comfortably in the bed.

Then, this happened.

Hostile takeover.

A different time ...

Sometime this spring Mom and Big D started putting together boxes 

and making a lot of ripping noises with a 'tape gun'.  

I don't like noises so I was pretty nervous.  

But, not only were there a lot of new and strange noises, 

like paper crinkling and bubble wrap popping, 

Mom and Big D were making a big mess with all their stuff.

During this strange new time, Satch and I kept life simple

and familiar.

Today is the 4th of July and, 

that means it's going to be really noisy.

Hi everyone!

I've been very busy, and so has OM,
so she hasn't kept my blog up to date.
But, we're back now!
Since there is so much
to tell you about,
I'm going to tell it
in stages:
A spring of Bebop
A summer of Bebop
A fall of Bebop
and,
A Winter of Bebop
Meanwhile,
I'm happy, hanging out
in trees!

It's cool to go to school!

Me, learning important stuff at Circus Class

When I moved to San Francisco, OM started
taking me to the school where Jagger goes,
Circus Class at Saint Roch's in Oakland.

My teacher is Francis Metcalf and he
is the coolest teacher ever!
He school is called Friends Of The Family.
And boy, Jagger was a real Circus Star!

In Circus Class, Francis is our ringleader
and we do all sorts of crazy and fun things.

Here I am getting ready to enter Saint Roch's for class!

All of us dogs get our own wooden box to work on. Francis gives directions so we all have to pay
very close attention to follow what he tells us to do.
Jagger's very good, but I find it hard to stay attentive sometimes, so I work very hard.
I like Circus Class because I get to eat a lot of hotdogs.

We show off our commands like, sit, stay, come  and also do really fun tricks like balancing a ball on our nose!  Jagger can already balance a ball on his nose, I'm still working on that trick.

OM says the classes teach us all to "think outside the box".  I just know all the dogs and people have a lot of fun learning and working together.

While we're all working, Francis' best friend, Norma, walks around and takes pictures and films us.  Francis makes very special movies of our classes and you can watch them on YouTube.  Here's a video of Circus Classes, I'm the very last dog to be dismissed,
at the end of the movie!

I'm on the radio!

Here I am happy to hear my name on KFOG!

Every Monday - Friday in the afternoon 

Big D and my dinner party friend KFOG Renee 

are on the radio.  They are deejays on KFOG 

and their job is to play cool music 

and talk to people.  

And Big D talks about me and Jagger!

Big D talks about a pet store called, Pet Food Express, where people can go and get treats, toys, food and supplies for their pets.  And, you can express your love for pets and adopt 

a new friend!

I love when OM and Big D express their love for me by getting me treats 

and toys, and  

I really love when I get to go shopping with them!

Where sleeping Bebop lies ...

When I lived in Portland with my Mom and Dad,
I slept with my bff Enoch.
I liked that a lot because I'm very cuddly
and like to be next to someone warm.

My Mom and Dad liked it too because 

they had a "no dog" bed.

When I moved to San Francisco to live with OM and Big D,

I had to get used to different sleeping arrangements.

Jagger DOES NOT like to be disturbed when he's sleeping,

so I couldn't cuddle with him.

Me, in a ginormous bed.

OM bought me a really nice bed, but it was way too big for me.
I only slept in it a few times.

Me, trying to get comfortable on the couch.

And, I liked the couch better.
But only a little better.

So, OM took that big bed back to the store, and bought me another bed.

Here I am in my new, better sized bed.

But, I still was not happy because it's better to cuddle next to someone warm.

Then, I found the perfect bed.
OM & Big D had plenty of room
for me in their big bed!
So, that's where I sleep.
Right between them,
under the covers,
where I stay nice and toasty warm.




OM and Big D tried to make me sleep in my bed on the floor next to them.
But, I convinced them I need to be sleeping with them in their bed.
And that is where sleeping Bebop lies.

Hi everybody, I'm still Bebopping around.

Hi everyone!  I know it has been a long time since I have posted anything and a lot of stuff has happened!  OM has been busy so she hasn't put my updates together, 

but she has been taking pictures of me that we'll share soon.

Pet Pride Day

San Francisco takes its Pride seriously.
 There are big pride celebrations and parades in this city, 

including this pride day that's for the dogs!

I mentioned a few posts back that my neighbors took me to a parade when my family went someplace with Jagger and I wasn't invited.  I think I was lucky though, because I had a lot of fun at Pet Pride Day!

There were lots of activities:

the parade, trick contests and costume contests.

And, lots of booths with treats!

I got to spend the afternoon with my favorite neighbor, Bridget!

Bridget's family is super nice, and they said they really liked me!  I really like them too!

we were really happy and smiling the whole afternoon.

After the Pride Day festivities, we went to Bridget's house where Bridget and I played, explored and took naps until my family came home to get me.

I'm so glad the Rossi family took me to Pet Pride Day!

Now, whenever I can, I run over to Bridget's house to see if she is home. Only OM yells at me, and makes me go home.  OM says it's rude to barge over to Bridget's house by myself, I have to be invited first.  Rules sure are hard to keep up with!
